We are hoping to get some of our duck hunters to take some mergansers during duck season as they are the species that carries the parasite to the highest degree. TOWEL off every 20 minutes in the meantime.
It is a nuisance, but better than getting swimmer's itch. So far there have been cases, but not widespread. Keep contacting me (firstname.lastname@example.org), so I can post spots where it has been a problem.
I have been swimming every day in North Bay, wading, playing with kids, and no issues.
