The lake management company (PLM) has scheduled the Grid/AVAS survey on Lake Margrethe for next week. Treatment for the invasive species milfoil will occur the following week (August 10, 2020).
Many members of the LMPOA have been posting Facebook pictures of bears on and near the lake. There have been some dangerous interactions between people and animals. The DNR rep, Tim Riley, has requested that we take our responsibility seriously to remove temptations. This includes bird feeders, barbeque grills, any and all containers with food that are accessible. This is the link on the DNR website: https://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,4570,7-350-79136_79608_83071_83072_83446---,00.html
Tim also recommended that if a bear is on your property, banging pots and pans is a good solution. Bears remember negative experiences and will tend to avoid coming to that area again.
