From a visitor to Lake Margrethe:
"I contacted it Sat Jul 18, just walking from one dock to the next at the state park boat launch. My neighbor has a much worse case than I do from wading in to his knees. Is there any action being taken on the lake to prevent it?"
We are hoping to get some of our duck hunters to take some mergansers during duck season as they are the species that carries the parasite to the highest degree. TOWEL off every 20 minutes in the meantime.
It is a nuisance, but better than getting swimmer's itch. So far there have been cases, but not widespread. Keep contacting me ([email protected]), so I can post spots where it has been a problem.
I have been swimming every day in North Bay, wading, playing with kids, and no issues.
